Featherstone Castle

‘Strong Beginning’ weekend

This event was held at the wonderful historic venue of Featherstone castle in Northumberland.

The weekend was a little different to previous Celebrate events in that it was slightly more structured & themed than the usual ‘do as you please’ event.

The coordinators invited participants to explore things like our life paths, trust building, making new connections, sharing our truths and community building.

Some may use the word ‘spiritual’, and all belief systems –theistic or otherwise - were welcome.

The event focused on sharing our own individual truths, and celebrating the diversity within the group, without judgement.

Although some aspects of the weekend may have been ‘hard work or difficult at times’ great fun was also had and most people seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience.

Truth Mandala

Body Image ‘Feet First’

Slides/Visual Imagery

Trust Games

Dancing

Juggling

Walking

Eating lovely food!

Food Games (feeding each other)

Meditation

Yoga

Singing/Chanting

Story Telling

So we didn’t have time to get bored, and the overall opinion was that it was a great weekend.

The cost of this event was around £40 for the weekend, which includes all accommodation, food & any pre-organised workshop materials.

On behalf of the coordinators I’d like to thank everyone for making this a great weekend and to especially thank Ali, Mike and Steve for their wonderful cooking & company.

Also thanks to the caretakers & owners of Featherstone Castle, who made us feel welcome and at home during our stay.
